What is Dock Talk? I’ve asked others what they think dock talk is and the answers ranged from gossip, fish tales, fishing tips, information to down right lies! For many dock talk steers them to where they think they should go fishing and for others it actually helps them. For me I tend to digest that information with the proverbial grain of salt and trust my instincts more than the guy at the dock telling me to use the pink woolly bugger hugger near 120 foot drop offs! Case in point was my recent trip to Kentucky Lake to ledge fish after getting a lot of dock talk help on where to go fish ledges and what to do and how the fish were in 20 to 30 foot of water we did that for sometime only to find the best fishing in the shallows in less than 3 foot! Big Shout however to EKU’s Collegiate Bass Fishing team as they pulled off back to back wins over on Kentucky Lake this past week at the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Open presented by Pepsi. It’s tough to repeat and they did it on camera and with confidence!
