Big O is Blazing Hot

The Big O

Lake Okeechobee, affectionately referred to as the “Big O”, has been as hot as a lake gets for the past couple years when it comes to bass fishing.  Plenty of FLW tournament results and guide reports provide evidence of this.  You probably remember watching Brandon McMillan and Randall Tharp duking it out last year on NBC Sports’ FLW Outdoor programming last year and most recently Brandon Medlock won an FLW Everstart event with an impressive 4.5lb average for 3 days and the lake was a little off.

On a more personal note, my good fishing buddy, was just down in Florida last week.  On his first time out on the lake, he was able to boat over 40 bass including 2 fish in the 7lb class!  There are plenty of ways to catch these fish, from shiner fishing, to flipping, to swimbaits, sight fishing, frogs & more.

My wife & I were actually looking at ways to use our next timeshare week, I am secretly lobbying for places within an easy drive of Clewiston, FL….  Shhhhhhh…….  Wouldn’t you?

Once again, the FLW Tour will be kicking off their season on Okeechobee next week.  Leave a comment on how you think this event will be won?  You can check back here for a recap on the top patterns of the event and of course later this spring you will be able to catch all the action in stunning High Definition television on NBC Sports’ FLW Outdoors television broadcasts.
